WELCOME!

We are a not-for-profit organization that empowers refugees by providing them with the educational resources needed to make a successful transition to the United States. In 2018 we opened our first learning center in the heart of the West Ridge neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. Since the start of the pandemic, we have grown to provide 2,600 hours of virtual tutoring each month.

WHAT WE DO

We provide free reading and math tutoring to refugee children in grades K-12, as well as ESL classes for adults.

WHO WE ARE

We are staffed by professional and volunteer tutors who are dedicated to making Chicago a city where refugees can thrive.

OUR STRATEGY

Our learning center is conveniently located for clients we serve: refugees who live in and around the West Ridge neighborhood of Chicago.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to ensure that refugee families are provided access to an education sufficient to prepare them to become economically self-sufficient and robustly engaged in American civic life.

OUR VISION

Our vision is a world where refugees in need are welcomed and empowered.

OUR VALUES

We value patience, kindness, wellness, intercultural connection, a passion for learning and a determined resilience... and modeling these values for others.
