We are humbled by how many of you have stepped up to join us as online tutors!

Thanks to you, we are providing more than 300 hours of one-on-one instruction a week.

Most importantly, these families know they are not alone

The current crisis is hitting the refugee community hard and we are expanding to meet the need.  We are providing refugee students with appropriate tech, rigorous computer-based curricula, and at least an hour a day of one-on-one tutoring. With this support, our students are keeping up, and some are even making gains in their educational progress.

We need high school students, professional adults, retirees

-- people from all walks of life who are patient and kind.

We've had a huge response to our call for tutors!  We are only taking volunteers who are ready to tutor an hour each weekday from now through December

Each new tutor means one more student on the road to success.

Most of our students are in the first generation of their families to learn to read.

Our vision is a world where migrants in need are welcomed and empowered.

Our mission is to ensure that refugee families are provided access to an education sufficient to prepare them to become economically self-sufficient and robustly engaged in American civic life.

Our strategy is to be located in the neighborhoods that we serve to make daily educational services easily available to newly-arrived refugees.

The Power of Education

We provide daily tutoring to refugee children in grades K-12 and English classes to adults.
Our learning center is conveniently located for clients we serve: refugees who live in and around the West Ridge neighborhood of Chicago.
We are staffed by professional and volunteer tutors who are dedicated to making Chicago a city where refugees can thrive.
We need volunteer tutors.
We are funded by donations.
