Chicago, IL – [August 29, 2025] — Forging Opportunities for Refugees in America (FORA) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a grant from Invest For Kids, a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting highly impactful organizations serving youth in low-income circumstances.
The grant will provide critical support for FORA’s work with refugee families on Chicago’s North Side, where the organization delivers intensive High Impact Tutoring and holistic educational support to Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE).
“Refugee families in Chicago face extraordinary barriers to education, and this grant from Invest For Kids allows us to meet that need with urgency and care,” said Rebecca Clendenen, Chief Development Officer of FORA. “We are honored to be recognized alongside other organizations making a difference for Chicago youth.”
Since its founding in 2009, Invest For Kids has hosted its annual Investable Ideas Conference, bringing together world-class investment leaders to share their market views, industry insights, and best ideas. With 100% of conference expenses underwritten by its co-founders, all proceeds go directly to nonprofit partners like FORA.
This year’s 17th Annual Invest For Kids Conference will take place on October 21, 2025, at the Harris Theater, bringing together portfolio managers, family offices, private investors, and analysts from across the investment community. Funds raised through the event will support organizations like FORA that are making measurable impacts on the lives of Chicago youth.
