FORA places a high priority on protecting the privacy of visitors to our website. This privacy policy was created in order to demonstrate FORA’s firm commitment to the privacy of our website users. This policy explains what types of information is collected by the FORA’s website, www.refugeefora.org, and how this information is used.

What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected FORA does not collect information from passive FORA website visitors other than counting how many visitors and unique visitors. We do, of course, retain contact information of website  users who actually proactively register to receive FORA communications. Furthermore, we use our website as the entry portal to our volunteer registration system, an online site called BetterImpact. Only self-identified applications use such system. We need to collect a great deal of information from our applicants and volunteers, who, of course, provide such information voluntarily, and those volunteers became part of our contact list. If anybody ever wants to opt out of our contact list.

IP addresses

FORA uses your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer www.refugeefora.org, and for statistical metrics used to track website visitor traffic. We do not use IP addresses to either sell them or to track anything about website visitors.

Cookies

www.refugeefora.org use Wix as our website host. Wix reports that it  may use "cookie" messages to automatically help provide better services. They remind us who you are and your preferences for our website based on what you've done and told us before. The "cookie" is placed in your computer and is read when you come back to our website. Cookies let us take you to the information and features you're particularly interested in. They also let us track your usage of www.refugeefora.org, so we know which parts of our sites are most popular. You can reject cookies or cancel them by instructing your Web browser accordingly.

How Your Information May Be Used

Again, we do not track individual information of passive visitors to our website other than to determine the number of unique visitors. We do track information of people who proactively identify themselves on our website as desiring to be contacted and, obviously, we use their information to send them messages. People who use our website as a portal to get to the Better Impact website in order to fill out FORA applications provide us a lot of information that we use in the application and volunteer background check process and to contact them. We do not sell any product and we do not sell anybody’s information.  If you are on our contact list, you may choose to opt out at any time, which will cease all communications from us.

Email Privacy

FORA does not provide, sell, or rent email addresses to anyone outside the organization.
