In the 2010s, Michael and Kathleen O'Connor began supporting Rohingya refugees in Chicago, eventually founding FORA in 2019 to help refugee students succeed in school. Over seven years, FORA grew significantly, serving over 125 students, aged K-12, expanding its services, and celebrating student milestones.
