Internships

FORA INTERNSHIPS -- OPEN FOR APPLICATION

All internship applicants must be age 18 or older. All internships are unpaid, can be in-person or virtual, are a 15 hour per week commitment, and will go through June 3, 2022. 

 

Data Entry Intern

Intern will report to FORA's Assessment and Special Projects Specialist. Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Retrieving data from school report cards, NWEA MAP scores of students, and other data sources as requested.

  • Entering data into the student performance database.

  • Generating a brief narrative explaining data collection process for each student

  • Maintaining and updating the database as necessary.

Volunteer Recruitment Intern

Intern will report to FORA's Director of Volunteer Engagement and Pedagogical Support. Intern will help to recruit new tutors from Chicago and around the country through FORA's current methods, as well as researching and exploring new methods of volunteer recruitment.

Social Media Intern

The communications team promotes FORA’s mission through brand cultivation, marketing, advocacy, and public education. Interns will be supervised by our Chief of Staff and our Community Relations Coordinator.

 
Specific responsibilities include:

  • Informing and implementing communication strategies.

  • Supporting social media and digital campaigns.

  • Curating and designing brand materials and content.

  • Brainstorming new ideas, monitoring social trends, and refreshing FORA’s communications channels.

  • Supporting with website design update launching 2022.

  • Completing administrative tasks such as data entry and evaluation.

 

Requirements: 

  • Strong knowledge of social media, particularly Facebook and Instagram

  • Strong eye for detail and design, previous experience with Canva. 

  • Past experience running social media pages highly preferred
