Applications for FORA's summer tutoring session are now open! Please see the details below. We encourage anyone passionate about education and refugee rights to apply.

In-person and virtual tutoring. 

In-person tutoring is highly encouraged if you are in the Chicago area! 

​

​

Volunteers will assist diligent refugee students living in Chicago's West Ridge neighborhood in foundational literacy skills and crucial numeracy. Volunteers will work one-on-one with a student K-12, following FORA's specialized curriculum. 

There are no Work Study opportunities during the summer.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until July 5, 2024. We encourage applications to apply as soon as possible.

IN-PERSON TUTORING

Time slots:

​

Mon-Fri 9:15-11:15 a.m. CT

Mon-Fri 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. CT 

​

Requirements

​

In-person tutors must commit to 2 tutoring sessions ( 4 hours) per week.

 

Tutors must be at least 14 years old and confident in teaching English and mathematical concepts to a student. 

​

All tutors must undergo FORA's on-boarding and training process.

Mon-Fri 9:15-10:15 a.m. CT

Mon-Fri 10:15-11:15 a.m. CT

Mon-Fri 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. CT

Mon-Fri 12:30-1:30 p.m. CT

Requirements

​

Virtual Tutors must commit to 5 one-hour sessions of tutoring per week. All virtual tutors will tutor for one hour Mon-Fri. 

​

All virtual tutors must be at least 14 years old and confident in teaching English and mathematical concepts virtually. 

​

All virtual tutors must undergo FORA's on-boarding and training process.
