A Student Story
In June 2021, a 19-year-old FORA student graduated from high school -- the first in her family! She was a Rohingya refugee who came to the United States in 2017 after being denied an education in her homeland. Arriving in America as a teen, her odds of graduating were low. But she was stronger than strong, and with great effort and a super team, she did it!
She now wants others to hear her story, in her own words, with her own voice, to encourage other girls and young women. Although her name is hidden for privacy's sake, her personality and character come through crystal clear. She is a devoted daughter, a determined scholar, and a joyous advocate of a robust education for all.
Would you please do her and us the honor of listening to her inspirational story?
